We are Marines dedicated to taking care of fellow Marines, their dependents and other military services members

MEMBERSHIP

Marines (active, reserve, retired and former) as well as FMF Corpsman of like kind are solicited to join. Associate Membership is available as well. The cost of membership is $30.00 annually; this provides you with a MCL magazine, information and representation by the National Headquarters in matters of interest to us all at the governmental level.

FUNDING

We do not harass our membership nor do we expect members to dig into personal pockets for survival of the club. Campaigns are conducted annually for voluntarily funding from the public. Our major projects are described below along with details of how they are funded.

MEETINGS

Regular meetings are conducted the first Tuesday of each month at 1900 hours in the VFW Clubhouse located on Mumford Road (near River Park North). Special meetings and Committee meetings are scheduled as needed.

STRUCTURE OF CLUB

Starting with the Commandant, Senior Vice Commandant, Junior Vice Commandant, Adjutant/Paymaster, Judge Advocate, Chaplain, and Sergeant of Arms.  Rules of order are provided by National Marine Corps League By-Laws.

PROJECTS

• HOME AWAY FROM HOME (HAFH)

Each year dozens of Marines and other active duty service personnel are admitted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital (PCMH) due to serious injury or illness. We provide support to the next of kin of these unfortunate service members. In addition, immediate family members of service members end up at PCMH due to birthing problems, serious accidents, neo-natal problems and extreme illness. We provide assistance to the service member as needed, many of which are deployed out of CONUS. In most cases we assist with initial lodging expenses, food tickets and above all a shoulder to lean on. Our funding for this effort comes in large from local and national donors.

• TOYS FOR TOTS (TFT)

The detachment, as of 2008, is responsible for collecting and distributing thousands of toys to needy children in Pitt County and other counties each year. This takes MANPOWER and cooperation which only we can provide as a Detachment.

MARINE CORPS BALL

Annually we commemorate this occasion. On November 14^th of this year, we will commemorate this occasion with a unit from Cherry Point.  The Ball will be held at the Hilton Hotel in Greenville, NC.
